KC Welcome to Singapore Voice.

Hi, I am Kannappan Chettiar (most people just call me ‘KC’), a Singaporean.

First, I am happy that so many Singaporeans have decided to stand-up for their views and for nearly all seats to be contested.
Second, I am happy to put myself in the ring and hopefully offer another choice (See Latest).

I am not here for the politics and feel that I can serve my fellow Singaporeans. I like democracy and like all Singaporeans, I like the freedom to choose.

I have been quite happy with the PAP government.  However, I believe that we need Change as our government policies have resulted in many Singaporeans being left behind.  I want to see this change resulting in ‘No Singaporeans left behind’.  For this to become a reality, the PAP government needs to stop thinking that Singapore is a conglomerate, serving selectively only a few Singaporeans.  Singapore is a country, a first world nation and the government has its duty to take care of those who are weak and frail as well.  Shifting responsibility to other charitable organisations is not an appropriate recourse.

Like most Singaporeans, I have voted for PAP all my life until now (click here to see my letter to the PAP and why I will not be voting for them).

But I actually like the Workers’ Party and the concept of a ‘First World Parliament.’ I like this concept better than I actually like the PAP

Who wins is really not really that important. Singaporeans will lose if we continue the Inertia (click here for my views on Inertia) by voting for the same party (click here for my views of how cancer is caused and why I equate this analogy to the PAP) just because we feel there is no choice.I therefore applaud all those candidates standing against the incumbent PAP because I feel that they have something to offer you: a choice.

I take the rational view to the present situation. We have to accept the PAP government for now as a reality for this election. But at the same time, if we do not cultivate diversity (Click here for my views on diversity required for any Ecosystem) by allowing the Alternative parties (click here why I am not in favour of the word “Opposition Party” ) to voice, the future of Singaporeans will be compromised.

Even if you do not support me or my views, let us resolve to make Singapore a better place. After all, Singapore is Our Country. I would like to think that we are custodians for future Singaporeans, too.

Our Singapore pledge is: “We the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as ONE UNITED PEOPLE regardless of race, language or religion .... (political party or beliefs)”. Hopefully, we can add the words that I have added in parenthesis to our pledge!
